ContiTech represents a division of Continental AG, a German multinational automotive manufacturing brand.
The company has a very rich history, as it was started more than 150 years ago in Hanover. Five divisions make up the Continental Corporation.
The company as a whole has more than 232,000 employees and facilities in more than 40 countries across the globe.
On the other hand, ContiTech has approximately 41,000 employees and operates in nine decentralized units. As a powerful division of Continental AG, ContiTech develops and manufactures systems and components made out of rubber, fabric, metal, and plastic.
The ContiTech division was established in 1988 as a brand for technical products developed by the Continental Corporation.
In 2004, the division merged with Phoenix AG to become the largest developer and manufacturer of plastics and rubber technology in the world outside of the tire industry.
In recent years, ContiTech has built facilities in Germany, Mexico, and China.
The division of Continental AG has also acquired many businesses in China, Finland, Germany, Poland, Spain, and Serbia.
In China, it has also opened an impressive research and development center for mounting and vibration control technology.
ContiTech is best known for products like drive belts, anti-vibration systems, hose lines, conveyor belt systems, coated fabrics, air spring systems, and rubber tracks.
In 2015, Continental AG acquired an American rubber company known as Veyance Technologies Inc. and integrated it into the ContiTech division.
The Veyance headquarters is now the location of the North American regional home office for ContiTech.
