Blauparts, originally known as Blaufergnugen, is a family-owned business that specializes in RAVENOL oils and its own line of BLAU motor oil and transmission fluid change kits.

Products sold by this company are available for a wide range of both imported and domestic vehicles. Blauparts is often recognized as one of the first companies in the world to create comprehensive DIY repair kits for European and North American cars.

The company was established by Jim Blau Jr., who worked as a car technician since he was a teenager. Jim’s father owned a car dealership in Wisconsin during the 1960s where Jim first worked on European vehicles. Jim Blau Jr. only had a budget of $1,500 when he started Blauparts.

Despite having a limited budget, Jim managed to create a successful business thanks to his extensive knowledge of European passenger cars.

The experience he got working in his father’s dealership helped him design maintenance kits that made it easy for the average person to repair a vehicle or install a new part without needing the help of a technician.

Many of the maintenance kits released by Blau offer important service bulletins and detailed installation instructions.

With an initial focus on Audi and Volkswagen vehicles and the rising popularity of the World Wide Web in the late 1990s, Blauparts became one of the first companies in North America to offer auto parts on the internet.

The headquarters of Blauparts is located in the relatively small city of Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
