About Victor Reinz

More than a century ago, German businessman Hugo Reinz decided to establish a wholesale company that would produce industrial products.

In the early 1920s, Hugo noticed how the automotive industry was growing and examined the problems most automakers were facing at the time.

By experimenting with many different materials and designs, he created gaskets made from a tightly woven asbestos-metal material.

Mass production of gaskets developed by Hugo started in 1929 and had a huge impact on the automotive industry.

A few years later, Reinz decided that it was time to abandon the idea of producing industrial products and focus solely on making gaskets for automotive motors.
